Difficulty Level: Easy
Estimated Time: 5 -15 minutes
Best For: Dry and/or Brittle Hair
To Be Done: Approximately 3-5 nights a week.
Steps Put Simply: Mix, Apply, Bun, Cover, Tie Down, Sleep.
Summary: For the ladies with dry hair, think of this as an overnight hair treatment. Wearing a shower cap overnight will allow the oils and moisturizer to penetrate, marinate, and moisturize without being bothered by external factors and you’ll wake up with soft hair that will stay moisturized for a much longer time throughout the day.

DIRECTIONS
1 Use a small bowl to combine your oils and moisturizer. I prefer a disposable one or one that I don’t plan on eating from. And my oils of choice are, Castor Oil (known to thicken and strenghthen hair), Extra Virgin Olive Oil (known to lock in moisture and soften hair), and Coconut Oil (know to penetrate the shaft with moisture, soften, and shine hair). For my moisturizer, I use Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner and/or Elasta QP’s Mango Butter. Use the moisturizer that works best on your hair and mix oils that have benefits that are best for your hair. Also note that I only make a mixture that is able to fill one third to two thirds of my bottle, that way it’s always fresh.
2 After mixing, heat in microwave for 10-30 seconds, to allow the mixture to mesh better, as most oils separate naturally.
3 Next, pour your mixture into a small spray bottle. I use this one from Target. It was a dollar and I haven’t had any problems.
4 Using a wide tooth comb, comb hair back. Be gentle and make sure hair is hanging loosely.
5 Section hair from bottom to top & spray mix on scalp. I usually only have to part my hair 4-5 times as I go up.
6 Spray some of the mixture into hand, rub together, and smooth. You don’t need a lot, a dime or quarter size is plenty.
7 Pull hair back into bun. I don’t use elastic, but a few bobby pins, tucking & intertwining the ends of my hair into my hair to keep them hidden and protected.
8 Put on shower cap. To allow the hair mask to heat and marinate over night.
9 Tie down hair. With your favorite scarf.
10 Get beauty rest. And enjoy your soft hair in the morning!
KEEP IN MIND You don’t have to use much oil. Oil spreads quickly and the goal isn’t to wake up with a Jerry Curl.
