I’ve become quite the kitchen beautician this past year. I’m whipping up everything from hair smoothies, body puddings, and health shakes. Today on the menu, is a recipe for shiny and super moisturized hair. This recipe is rich in Vitamins A, D, E, K, and B and is also rich in iron, potassium, amino acids and folate. Just the concoction for repairing split ends and strengthening the hair strands. And just the texture to leave your hair shiny and soft. The whip up time? 10 minutes. And how long you leave it on is totally up to you.

Recipe
• Mix your ingredients to a consistency that isn’t to watery but isn’t too sticky. It is crucial that all components are blended o a consistency that is liquid. If you put chunks in your hair, you’ll have to comb those sticky chunks out which is a true headache, in all meanings of the word. It needs to be just right to sit on your hair like a conditioner would but shouldn’t have any chunks. It’s important to not go too heavy on the honey, so if it feels overly sticky add more of something else to loosen it up.
• Part your hair into 4 parts. Be sure that each part is detangled. Use a wide comb or your fingers and be gentle.
• Apply mixture to each part as if your putting in a perm except focus more on your ends. They’re the oldest parts of your hair and cannot be saved once dead. When done adding mix clip each part up or braid/twist each section loosely. Be sure that your ends are tucked protected so they don’t randomly get pulled.
• Put on a plastic cap (or a plastic bag if you’re fabulously frugal ;]) and wrap a towel around your head for 45 minutes to an hour. This towel around the plastic bag allows for you to have the same experience as you would if you were using a $150 steamer ;]. If you’re in a rush feel free to sit under a hair dryer for 20 minutes without a plastic covering on your head.
• Rinse out hair starting with warm water and finishing with cool water. It’s important to finish with cool water so your hair cuticles can close. Sealed cuticles allows for the hair to lay flat again, whereas open cuticles leaves hair standing (frizzy).
• Pat hair lightly using an old t-shirt. T-shirts are better than towels as they minimize breakage.
• Detangle gently again using a wide tooth comb.
• Dry and style to your liking. I personally air dry.
• Enjoy your bouncy, moisturized, and soft hair. Oh, and don’t forget to tie your hair before going to bed at night!
